TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Zen Dog grooms by appointment only.

2. Our guide prices are based on the time taken to groom a well behaved dog that is groomed regularly and with their coat in good condition. Additional costs may be incurred for badly matted or difficult to manage dogs.

3. If you cannot keep your appointment please provide 48 hours’ notice, last minute

cancellations may result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the price of your normal groom price which would be payable in full before booking your dog’s next appointment. 

A non-refundable deposit of the starting price of the groom will then apply to secure a new appointment slot. 

4. Please ensure that your dog has had a chance to toilet before your appointment.

5. All clients are required to complete and sign the declaration form prior to their dog being groomed. All your data is confidential and will not be shared with any third party.  

6. Zen Dog reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that displays aggressive behaviour. You must inform us prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services.

7. If a dog’s coat is severely matted Zen Dog will only attempt to de-matt the coat for a maximum of 20 minutes in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

8. Zen Dog reserve the right to perform a complete clip off of the dog’s coat if the matting is severe enough to cause the dog discomfort and/or exceeds the 20 minute de-matting allowance. In the event of matted fur needing a clip off, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the clipping process. The owner agrees that Zen Dog shall not be held liable for any after grooming effects of mat clipping procedures or problems 'uncovered' on a badly matted neglected coat. The owner agrees to pay all costs for the grooming of the dog including de-matting , whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job.

9. If a complete clip off needs to be performed Zen Dog will notify you before doing so. 

10. Severely matted dogs will incur additional charges for de-matting and/or clipping off the coat. These charges will vary dependant on the time taken for the procedure but can range from £5 to £30.

11. Zen Dog reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that we deem too severely matted to safely carry out a clip off of the coat.

12. If you fail to disclose information about any allergies and/or skin conditions Zen Dog will not be held responsible for any irritation, patchiness, abrasions or hair loss that may arise due to the grooming process.

13. If you are aware that your dog has fleas or any other parasites before entering the van you are to inform us straight away. A heavy infestation will be refused the groom.

Should we find any form of infestation during the initial health check you will be immediately informed. An additional charge of £10 will then apply on top of your grooming price as the implications of an infestation require us to use specialised shampoo and our van will have to be deep cleaned and fumigated to prevent cross contamination to other dogs.

14. If you fail to disclose information regarding any physical and/or medical conditions (such as elbow or hip dysplasia, epilepsy etc.) Zen Dog will not be held responsible for any injury incurred during the grooming process.

15. Zen Dog will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress. If during the grooming process your dog finds any part of the grooming process too stressful that part will not be completed. If Zen Dog cannot complete the groom price reductions may be implemented.

16. Your dog may be photographed and any photographs may be used on our website, social media sites and any other promotional material to provide illustration of the work we carry out.

17. Grooming appointments are payable by cash or card only.

18. Payment is required on completion of the groom.

PRIVACY POLICY

1. As a customer of Zen Dog it is necessary for us to hold some information about you such as your contact details and details about your pet. These details enable us to contact you in the event of an emergency and provide us with valuable details about your pet's history and requirements.

2. Zen Dog will never share any of your details with anyone else without your prior consent.

3. Zen Dog will never contact you without your prior consent unless it is regarding an appointment time or booking an appointment.

4. All personal data held by Zen Dog is stored securely in a file and locked away each day and/or kept safely on a password protected phone.

5. Any photos or videos taken of your pet for use on social media or our website will be deleted from the phone on which it has been taken after use.

6. As a customer of Zen Dog your information will be stored for one year after you last contacted us and then it will be safely deleted.

7. As a customer of Zen Dog you can request to see the personal information we hold on you at any time.
