TTouch & Reiki

TTouch

Tellington TTouch is a kind and respectful way of working with animals to help them overcome a variety of health and behavioural issues.  It was developed over 30 years ago by Linda Tellington Jones and is now widely used around the world.

TTouch recognises a link between posture and behaviour and uses body work and specific equipment to release tension and promote a feeling of calm and well being, which in turn can help animals develop both self confidence and self control.

Body movements (TTouches) are used to induce a state of calm and these movements then have a profound effect on the nervous system, thus powerfully influencing both the dog's responses and mood.

TTouch is incredibly effective and can have amazing results with dogs who are nervous during the grooming process. We use TTouch techniques as a fundamental part of each and every groom wherever we deem it necessary....helping to calm and relax any dog exhibiting signs of anxiety or stress.

Reiki

“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy, and is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing, This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication.

We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well being.

Reiki healing is a form of hands-on healing and can be used on both humans and animals. It involves a practitioner placing their hands on the body in various positions, allowing the channelling of energy, which in turn induces a state of calm and relaxation and can aid healing processes within the body.

Zen Dog offers Reiki as either a standalone treatment or as an additional treatment which can be given to your dog as a part of their therapeutic grooming experience.
